Teenager Gill and Shankar called up by India

Shubman Gill could became the latest teenager to make his India debut against either Australia or New Zealand.

Uncapped batsman Shubman Gill and all-rounder Vijay Shankar have replaced suspended duo Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul in India's limited-overs squad to face Australia and New Zealand.

Pandya and Rahul were banned from playing any form of cricket by the Board of Control for Cricket in India for what were perceived to be sexist remarks made on television show 'Koffee with Karan'.

Gill, a 19-year-old opener, has been called up for the remainder of the white-ball encounters with Australia, as well as the one-day international and Twenty20 matches against the Black Caps.

Shankar, who has played five T20 internationals after being handed a debut against Sri Lanka last year, was also drafted in.

Australia beat Virat Kohli's side by 34 runs in the first of three ODIs at the SCG on Saturday.
