Dolphins eyeing Patriots' Brian Flores as next head coach, report says

Brian Flores has spent his entire coaching career with the Patriots.

The Dolphins know who they want.

Miami has narrowed its focus to Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores to be the team's next head coach, according to a report from NFL Network, which cites unidentified league sources.

Flores has spent his entire coaching career with the Patriots. He started with the team in 2004 as a scouting assistant and has since coached the team's special teams, safeties and linebackers. He also spent time as a scout and defensive assistant.

He took over the Patriots' defensive play-calling duties when Matt Patricia took the head coaching job for the Lions last season.

The Dolphins have also reportedly shown interest in Cowboys defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator Kris Richard.
