NFL free agency rumors: Kelvin Benjamin visiting Chiefs

Benjamin, who was released Tuesday by the Bills, cleared waivers and officially became a free agent Wednesday.

Kelvin Benjamin may be Kansas City-bound.

Two days after his release from the Bills, the wide receiver is scheduled to visit with the Chiefs, ESPN reported, citing unidentified sources.

Benjamin, who cleared waivers and officially became a free agent Wednesday, was cut for performance reasons after a lackluster second season in Buffalo.

Benjamin, 27, initially was selected by the Panthers with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2014 draft. He then was acquired by the Bills in November 2017 for third- and seventh-round picks in the 2018 draft.

He has 23 catches for 354 yards and a touchdown this season and finished his stint in Buffalo with 39 catches for 571 yards and two touchdowns.

The Chiefs (10-2) are slated to host the Ravens (7-5) at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
