Oakland acquired McCarron from the Bills before the start of the 2018 season for a fifth-round pick.
He threw a total of three passes for the Raiders last season while backing up Derek Carr.
McCarron is in the second year of a two-year, $10 million deal he signed with the Bills during the 2018 offseason.
According to Spotrac, his release comes with a $5 million cap hit.
