Redskins rookie Derrius Guice sustains knee injury in preseason opener

Derrius Guice, a second-round pick out of LSU, will be evaluated Friday after a knee injury cut his debut with the Redskins short.

In his preseason debut, Redskins rookie Derrius Guice spent more time off the field than on.

The running back, a second-round pick out of LSU, sustained a knee injury in the first half that sidelined him for the rest of the game.

The Redskins, who were matched up with the Patriots, confirmed the injury but did not get specific to what extend or how serious it was.

A later report stated Guice would undergo an MRI on Friday to see the extent of the damage.

Guice had six carries for 19 yards in his first NFL appearance.
